Hyundai IONIQ 9 Named Best Seven-Seat EV by TopGear Ahead of UK Launch
Hyundai IONIQ 9 Wins Best Seven-Seat EV at the 2025 TopGear.com Electric Awards
The all-new Hyundai IONIQ 9 has been named Best Seven-Seat Electric Vehicle at the 2025 TopGear.com Electric Awards, just months before it arrives in the UK. This award is a major early win for Hyundai’s biggest and most advanced electric car yet.
The judges praised the IONIQ 9 for its stylish design, clever use of space, and smart technology – all wrapped into a practical and family-friendly package. With room for up to seven people, the IONIQ 9 is perfect for growing families, group travel, or anyone who needs more space without giving up comfort or electric performance.
Big on Space, Big on Comfort
Inside, the IONIQ 9 is designed to feel like a living room on wheels. There’s loads of legroom, a flat floor, and comfortable seating in all three rows. The seats can be adjusted in multiple ways, and in some markets, even turn to face each other – perfect for family chats when parked.
There’s plenty of storage too, with 620 litres of boot space even with all seven seats in use, and 1,323 litres when the back row is folded flat. Handy features like a sliding centre console and clever cupholders make everyday journeys easier.
Long Range and Fast Charging
All IONIQ 9 models will come with a large 110.3 kWh battery, offering a WLTP-estimated range of up to 385 miles. That means fewer charging stops on longer trips.
When it does need a top-up, the IONIQ 9 can charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes using an ultra-fast 800V charger. It also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, so you can power appliances or charge other devices using the car’s battery – ideal for camping or working on the go.
Smooth, Quiet and Safe to Drive
The IONIQ 9 has been built for a smooth and quiet ride. It uses special suspension, noise-reducing glass, and even a system that cancels out road noise to make every journey relaxing. A premium BOSE sound system is also available for top-quality in-car music.
Hyundai has packed the IONIQ 9 with the latest safety tech, including lane keeping assist, blind spot warning, collision avoidance, and more. It also comes with a clever remote parking feature that can park the car by itself – even while you’re outside it.
Smart Features and Modern Tech
Inside the cabin, a wide digital screen combines the car’s controls and displays into one simple, easy-to-use setup. You can personalise many features through Hyundai’s digital upgrades service, and software updates can be installed over the air – just like on a smartphone.
There are also six high-speed USB-C ports, wireless phone charging, and even a built-in UV-C steriliser to clean items like your phone or keys.
Coming Soon to the UK
The Hyundai IONIQ 9 is set to arrive in UK showrooms later in 2025, with full pricing and specs to be announced soon.
This win at the TopGear.com Electric Awards is an exciting start, and shows that the IONIQ 9 is ready to make a big impression when it lands. With its combination of space, technology and electric power, it looks set to become a favourite for UK families looking to go electric without compromise.
